Platform operator

WORK89™ is a product operated by RISEN JOURNEY (Pty) Ltd, Registration No. 2026/674738/07. South African trade mark application No. 2026/33065 for WORK89 is pending. These terms govern use of the WORK89 controlled-pilot platform.

Using WORK89

Users must provide truthful information, be legally able to perform or offer the work, communicate respectfully and follow applicable employment, tax, safety and consumer laws.

Jobs and payments

Job descriptions, rates and payment methods must be agreed clearly before work begins. WORK89 currently records arrangements but does not hold or process payments. Never pay merely to apply for a job.

Keeping jobs available and accurate

Hirers must update a listing when a job is filled through WORK89 or elsewhere, paused, cancelled or no longer available. WORK89 may ask whether a job is still open, automatically expire an inactive listing, respond to worker reports, or hide a listing that appears unavailable. Expired and paused jobs are removed from public search without erasing their history and may be reopened where appropriate.

Safety

Users must not post illegal, exploitative, discriminatory, deceptive or unsafe work. Reports may be investigated. Accounts and listings may be restricted or removed to protect the community.

Document review and trust indicators

During the controlled pilot, an authorised WORK89 administrator may manually review a privately submitted ID document for completeness, visible consistency with account information and obvious concerns. An “ID document reviewed by WORK89” indicator records that limited review only. It is not government validation, biometric or liveness verification, and does not guarantee identity, conduct, qualifications, skills, work quality, safety or payment. Users must continue to make their own reasonable checks.

Job moderation

WORK89 may hide a job while it is reviewed and will provide the hirer with a reason through their account notifications. A hidden job may be restored when the concern is resolved or the listing is shown to comply with these terms. WORK89 may permanently remove a job where there is a serious or repeated violation, including unlawful, fraudulent, exploitative, discriminatory, dangerous or deliberately misleading content. Moderation decisions and reasons are recorded for accountability.

Work records and reviews

Ratings and reviews must relate to real completed WORK89 activity. They may not contain threats, harassment, private information or knowingly false statements.

Platform limits

WORK89 helps people connect but is not the employer, worker or payment provider in a user’s agreement. Users remain responsible for assessing suitability, safety and legal requirements.

Ending an account

Users may delete their account from Account settings. Permanent deletion cannot be reversed. Certain information may be retained where law, fraud prevention or active disputes require it.
